Uncustomed Heroes of 2015: Orioles

It's looking like the Orioles may be headed back to being a middle-of-the-road team, and that's pretty sad, because there's a ton of talent in that roster, a lot of fight, too. I really hope they can at least do something next season.

Zach Britton is still one of the toughest closers in baseball, though, and I love how far he's come.

Jonathan Schoop had a less-productive but still awesome sophomore season at 2nd base, proving he can play the position consistently, and giving O's fans hope for life after Brian Roberts.

Caleb Joseph, in Matt Wieters' absence, was the main catcher in Baltimore this year, and he definitely did not disappoint, hitting well, playing nice defensive ball, and saddling Wieters to a backup role after his return (basically).

Ubaldo Jimenez came off a notoriously terrible 2014 to become one of the top arms for the Orioles, pitching big games and taking the place of Chris Tillman as the reliable veteran. Hopefully he'll keep it up.

Steve Pearce took an everyday outfield position, and didn't disappoint, playing well, hitting well, and probably going back to a starting job next year.

Gerardo Parra was a midseason trade that DEFINITELY worked out for the O's, as Parra broke big in a way he hasn't in a while, and even dwarfed his stats with the Brewers earlier this year.

Coming Tomorrow- Well...at least the Padres tried.

Uncustomed Heroes of Baseball: Indians

 I love how Cleveland has become a solace for aging former Yankees. Giambi, Damon, Swisher- all ended up there in the past year. The good news is that Cleveland was pretty damn good this year, getting a wild card spot and sadly getting knocked out by the Rays. They were a fun team.

I really didn't need to soup this one up with filters. Either that or I forgot to.

Year by Year Customs: 1986

 

 I freaking love this card. It symbolizes everything great about Pagan and the Giants, and it's a fitting sequel to last year's Brian Wilson. That and a few others are tonight's.

Custom Card of the Day: Jimenez Edition

I have returned to the mainland, otherwise known as New Jersey, back from a weeklong vacation in Lake Winnipissaukee, or however you spell it. It's safe to say that I'm finally feeling at home- unfortunately, the man on the card is in the exact opposite situation. He just was dropped from Colorado, where he's been pitching so well, to Cleveland. I'm not dissing the Tribe here, because there isn't much about the tribe to diss. But Jimenez hasn't been pitching too well since the trade from the Rockies. Now granted, maybe it's because of the fact that his 2011 season hasn't quite been like his 2010, where he lost the Cy Young only because Roy Halladay was in front of him. Hopefully he'll rebound, and make all the tribe fans happy.

Coming Tomorrow- Moving from a team I admire to a team I absoultely loathe, this guy has been pitching a decent season so far.

The customs are back!

The All Star rosters were announced yesterday, as I ranted about last night. Fortunately, all that razzing off team devoted bloggers (Maybe Rhodes isn't that awful...for once) made me think...I could showcase the picks I liked with Customs. And here's one of them.

I had a lot of fun making this card. It isn't the easiest set to customize, but I had a good time crafting it. Also, Jiminez is a very good pitcher, and he deserves the nomination.
