Andruw Jones needed a home. He had played ten consistent hard hitting seasons with Atlanta, and wanted to add a cherry to his slowly melting Ice Cream. He was in luck. The New York Yankees need a hard hitter that could occasionally play the outfield, like Marcus Thames did for us last year.
They needed each other. Andruw is thankfully now a Yankee. And it's a pretty big deal.
Andruw Jones last achieved a stitch of relevancy when he was signed by Los Angeles in 2008, with hopes of revitalizing the hard hitting power of the Dodgers. That didn't happen. He shopped around a bunch of teams (Rangers, ChiSox), until this year, the Yankees signed him.
Hopefully this will be as good as I think it is...and not as good as everyone else thinks it is (bad).
