Both of these were kinda predictable this year, which is rare. I mean usually there's a heavy favorite in one of these awards that doesn't win, but so far the clear favorites are taking it. Kershaw definitely deserved it, as he was by far the best pitcher in baseball this year (again).
Scherzer was like the R.A. Dickey of the year, in that he had a truly excellent season, and he may not ever get back to this height again, but we're happy he's here. Also, people saw this coming, with that amazing 20+ win season.
