Uncustomed Heroes of 2015: White Sox

Well, how about the White Sox, then? Sure, in 2015 they were a fourth-place team, but there are so many bits of promise lying around that roster than they can't possibly do it again in 2016.

Adam Eaton, continuing his good luck from 2014, got even more done, becoming even more of a star in the outfield, and having a more consistent season than his glory-grubbing teammate from 2014, Jose Abreu.

David Robertson, who pitched for my Yankees last season, continued his superb work in the ninth for the White Sox. Yeah, he wasn't gonna be the next Mariano Rivera, but he's still an awesome closer, and could be an even bigger factor when he actually has a great team to close for.

Adam LaRoche didn't do as much as was promised by his Washington numbers, but was still a solid DH. Hell, he hit a homer when I saw the Sox play at Comiskey this year, so he's at least still got some stuff left.

Carlos Rodon is the guy everyone's watching out for in 2015, because his stuff was pretty nasty in short-form last year, and he's a young arm who's gonna get more emphasis now that Jeff Samardzija is gone. Imagine him, Sale and Quintana, all in a row. That's gotta be horrifying.

Coming Tomorrow- At last, my New York Yankees.

Custom Card of the Day: LaRoche Edition

Adam LaRoche has played for eleven seasons. He's played on pennant-winning Braves teams, slumping Pirates teams, a surprisingly alright Diamondbacks squad, and has been a durable, efficient first baseman.

Yet he's getting tons of praise for being the anchor in Washington, and he deserves every bit of it. After all of those years of being underrated, and overlooked, he's finally a grade-A first baseman on a playoff team. Not only that, but he's part of the mega-infield that includes Ian Desmond, Asdrubal Cabrera, and Ryan Zimmerman.

I'm happy he's hitting so well too, because he's putting up quite a few home runs this season, and he's playing really well, which I'm happy for. The guy's 34 and he's finally having the season he deserves.

The Nats are playing just as well, which is great. I hope they keep it up.

Coming Tonight: A rookie I just need to get out of the way.

Custom Card of the Day: LaRoche Edition

Not much to say about this one. This man, before becoming old, was once a young infielder prospect for Atlanta. He was the team's only hope the season Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine had left. And he lent a hand for a while, before being dealt to dozens of other teams before finally landing in Washington. And he's been hitting well, finally. He's obviously not a starter, but he'll at least get some more playing time. I'm just glad he has some more in him.

Coming Tomorrow- Today's custom was for a Canadian. Tomorrow's is a Canadian. One whose team really needs him to play well right now. And no, Sizemore it ain't.

I am uninformed

Not only have the Red Sox acquired Victor Martinez for Justin Masterson and friends, they also were nice people and gave Adam LaRoche back to the Braves in exchange for Casey Kotchman, who I still need for my Series 1 set.

What a day. 10 minutes let, and it'll be wild.

My thoughts on the LaRoche trade

Yo Ho, Yo Ho, The Pirates' life for me
We trade all our stars
We spend cash in bars,
Drink up, the laddies Yo Ho
We just want some cash
We won't sit on our ash
Drink up, the laddies Yo Ho

Yo Ho, Yo Ho, the Pirates life for me
With LaRoche and Bay
Our heroes away
Drink up, the laddies Yo Ho
And now we do pledge-
Trade Lastings Milledge
Drink up, the laddies Yo Ho

Yo Ho, Yo Ho, the Pirates life for me
Well Freddy and Jack
Won't be coming back
Drink up, the laddies Yo Ho
Released Craig Monroe
Cause nowhere he'll go
Drink up, the laddies Yo Ho

(Hang in there, only one verse left)

Yo Ho, Yo Ho, the Pirates life for me
the HOF's graced our team
But it felt like a dream
Drink up, the laddies Yo Ho
But we'll trade them all
And soon we will fall
Like Balti- Drink up the laddies Yo Ho!

Goodbye LaRoche, Wilson, Snell and Sanchez. You will be missed...while the Pirates sink deeper into the Earth
