Brave Successor

First of all, I'd like to point out the irony that last year, the Braves were insisting on establishing this youth movement of guys they'd been farming for years at starting positions, and now every spot but shortstop is filled by some older guy from another team.

I do want to applaud Matt Adams for taking a no-win situation and really impressing, by taking over at 1st base for the great Freddie Freeman and doing a bang-up job of it. The Braves have inched closer to the Nationals' lead...which, honestly, is less thanks to the Braves and more thanks to the Nationals kinda squandering it. Still, the Braves are in second, and are now 7.5 games behind the Nats. I'm not sure how much they're going to be able to do, as they're still the 2017 Braves, but...yeah, this is a thing that's happening.

Again, no matter how spontaneously powerful the lineup is, the rotation is a bit disappointing. Julio Teheran and RA Dickey have inflated ERAs, and only Mike Foltynewicz and newcomer Sean Newcomb are doing anything to salvage things. The Braves are honestly the island of misfit toys of the MLB, with more wandering veterans than an expansion draft, and I'm shocked they've gotten this far in.

Not much else to report here. The NL East is just crazy this year.

Coming Tonight- He could have been playing for the 1st place Dodgers alongside Justin Turner, Cody Bellinger and Clayton Kershaw...instead he's still holding court on a surprisingly great team in the north.
