Thor: The Dark World
After a slight bout of hand, foot and mouth syndrome, which has gone on to plague a starter on the OTHER side of New York, THE MIGHTY THOR HAS RETURNED TO QUEENS.
And it couldn't come at a better time, as the great Mets have either been injured or traded away. The only power right now is coming from the rotation, with deGrom still surging, Wheeler and Matz improving on past missteps, and Seth Lugo starting games in between bullpen sessions. Now, the problem with this team is its sudden drought in fireballing prospects, which was its thing for a while. Yes, they have this Corey Oswalt character, but he's yet to prove himself.
It's nice that Syndergaard is back in New York, tough, as his material as been strong this year, with strikeouts and velocity that's consistent with the rest of his career. He's just the kind of pitcher that gets injured a bit too often (sort of like the rest of the Mets' rotation), but when he's healthy, he's unstoppable. deGrom is probably the standout this year, but Thor is still not to be counted out.
In terms of the rest of the season...again, it'll be nice if they keep the good work up, but it's kind of all for naught- the NL East will come down to either the Braves or Phillies, and the Mets really don't have any place in the race, especially with the piss-poor, injury-laden lineup they have.
Coming Tomorrow- With Moustakas gone, he's one of the few good Royals left on the team.
