Back to Awfulness in Philly

Well, after a good month or so of being a generally decent team, and being generally 'on'...the Phillies are playing like the Phillies again.

They're not in last, because...the Braves exist, but they're holding up a pretty paltry fourth place, as the majority of the lineup has stopped hitting, Vince Velasquez has run out of steam, and only Tommy Joseph's feats of hitting is keeping the team semi-relevant.

Aaron Nola, while obviously not perfect, thanks to his team's shortcomings, is still probably the best pitcher on the team. We knew when he was coming up that he'd be pretty big, and it's a relief he was ready the second he made it to the bigs. Jerad Eickhoff and Adam Morgan have struggled a bit, but Nola's been pretty consistent in his awesomeness, and could be a nice choice to lead the rotation once the arms develop.

Not much else to say tonight, because the Phils haven't given me a great deal.

Coming Tomorrow- The shortstop for one of the best teams in baseball.
