Two Hanger Boxes of 2017 Topps Series 1

Continued from yesterday's rip, now we have some hanger boxes. Yes, more cards and more inserts, but at the same time, a higher risk of doubles, as it's on a different collation from the rack packs. I could run into trouble here. Still, I solider on.

Rack Pack #1-
186- Andrew Cashner. Ok, at the very least Topps gave us a card of Andrew Cashner as a Marlin, before his signing with Arlington. Nice of them.
127- Michael Bourn. Another nice gesture by Topps, a card of Michael Bourn on the Orioles, as he was a nice part of their latter half.
336- Hector Santiago...reminding me how awesome these colored backs are.
341- Alex Bregman rookie, a pretty nice pull if the hype is to be believed.
Sixteen doubles from the start of the two rack packs. And we're back to Topps being Topps.
84- Daniel Murphy Leaders. At least they had some Leaders cards I needed here.
322- Albert Pujols. Say what you will about Pujols' decline, but he still led the league in something positive last year.
291- Khris Davis Leaders. Also nice that an Oakland A nearly made the HR leaders.
165- Corey Dickerson
10- Steven Souza. Random Rays attack.
221- Adam Wainwright. One of the more underrated NL arms NEEDS to rebound from down seasons.
331- Jake Lamb. Is he for real, or is he a 1-season wonder?
315- Carlos Beltran. Now on the Astros.
260- Stephen Piscotty
158- Tommy Pham
3 Leaders I already had.
SALUTE insert to Jose Abreu's relatively cool ChiSox throwback...
5-Tool insert of the one and only KRIS BRYANT. One of the cards TO GET in this ultra-cool insert set.
First Pitch insert of...JOAN JETT. One of the greatest rock and roll women of all time. Glad to see her in a Cubs uni, in this set.
That Same Awards card of Rick Porcello from last post.
Mark Trumbo Award Winners. Again, these are very uninspired.
REDISCOVER TOPPS...UUGHHHH.
316- Justin Smoak
233- Nomar Mazara. I'll also say that the horizontal cards in this set are still pretty inspired, and even if there's less space, they still know how to fill it.
198- Francisco Cervelli. Yeah, this one's another nice one.
251- Justin Turner. LA paid him to start...hopefully he'll deliver.
253- Tucker Barnhart
169- Steve Pearce, who received THREE TOPPS CARDS last year. THREE. Remember, this is STEVE PEARCE we're talking about.
348- Jeremy Hellickson, making Chris Coghlan the 2nd former Rookie of the Year to end up in Philadelphia.
217- Marlins TC
276- BIG FISH...our second Marlins extraneous card in a row.
59- Carlos Rodon. Man, I honestly was expecting more from this guy.
180- Jake McGee
189- Angels TC
298- Rockies Combo
78- Addison Russell Game 6 World Series Highlight.
327- Danny Espinosa. Now on the Angels.
83- Anibal Sanchez. A surprisingly boring static shot.
101- Pedro Alvarez. Still unsigned...for some reason.
87- Dansby Swanson ROOKIE. Another really nice one that might be slightly pricier someday.
146- Chad Pinder
254- Wade LeBlanc
285- Tyler White. I guess that weeklong hitting binge worked out for him, didn't it?
206- David Dahl ROOKIE. Another great pull. Hopefully the Rockies will use him this year.
68- Zach Britton.
161- KILLER OUTFIELD SHOT of Mookie Betts. I'm impressed.
323- Jameson Taillon.
258- Matt Adams
314- Ryan Flaherty. Manny Machado's backup. Poor guy.
31- Carlos Carrasco. Part of a still insanely strong rotation.
213- Alex Wood
248- Yasmany Tomas. Again, if the D-Backs find ways to use him, he'll be great.
261- Nathan Eovaldi. Basically done.
196- Great shot of Colby Rasmus. Now on the Rays.
34- BRYCE HARPER...Okay, at least they gave him his uniform #.
310- Scott Schebler.
'87 Topps...of Carlos Rodon. Great.

Hanger Box 2-
118- Billy Butler as a Yankee. Because yes, the big man did play for my team...briefly.
319- Seth Lugo, another potent arm in the Mets' system.
50- CLAYTON KERSHAW. Excellent stuff.
76- Andre Ethier. Hoping for a better season from Ethier.
278- Julio Teheran. Still one of the few reasons to go to Braves games.
305- Tyler Duffey
255- Orlando Arcia
308- Yovani Gallardo. Now on the Mariners.
197- Fantastic outfield shot of JACOBY ELLSBURY.
79- Gabriel Ynoa
303- Pedro Strop
281- Coco Crisp. Potentially his last card. Not sure.
288- Joey Votto. Still an outstanding player.
302- David Freese. I still hate him...but not AS MUCH...
209- Jon Gray. Possibly the Rockies' new ace? Not sure.
273- AJ Reed
329- Josh Reddick, who was listless as a Dodger, now on the Astros.
111- Edinson Volquez, now on the Marlins.
224- Hector Rondon.
97- Marcus Semien.
ELEVEN DUPES. GAH.
271- Nelson Cruz Leaders.
218- Michael Saunders. Somehow now on the Phillies!
SALUTE- Alex Gordon on Mother's Day.
SHINY- Steven Souza. These are still pointless.
Bowman Then & Now: Buster Posey. This is a nice idea.
332- Huston Street GOLD #'D TO 2017.
Awards- Terry Francona.
Awards- Mike Trout. These still suck.
133- Jace Peterson. Again, the horizontal cards do know how to frame a shot nicely.
272- Pat Neshek, still kicking around.
250- Sean Rodriguez. Yeah, when Sean Rodriguez gets card #250...you might need to rethink things.
4 dupes
304- Twins TC
32- Mets Combo, amazingly titled 'Thor and The Dark Knight'.
192- Padres TC
175- Astros TC
72- Cubs TC. I'm getting a shit-ton of team cards this pack, but at least the Cubs one looks nice.
266- Rays TC.
106- Brandon Crawford.
141- Orioles TC.
2 Doubles
228- Mike Foltynewicz
208- Masahiro Tanaka. Glad this guy's still a major threat on the mound.
47- Gregor Blanco
343- Mike Zunino. Worst catcher in the bigs, and somehow the Mariners want to start him this season. Put Ruiz, or Tuffy Gosewisch in there for all I care! It'll be better than Zunino!
301- Jeurys Familia. I'm not sure whether or not I'm supposed to hate him.
179- Matt Moore
284- Elvis Andrus. I forget how long he's been on the Rangers sometimes. Pretty fantastic player.
178- Rick Porcello, Mr. Cy Young. Not sure how his 2017 will be in comparison, though.
347- Brandon Belt
91- Troy Tulowitzki. A lot of people are pretending that Tulo's numbers haven't gone down since joining the Jays. They have. It ain't pretty.
14- Travis D'Arnaud. Needs to stay healthy this season.
148- Tim Anderson
205- Kendrys Morales. Now on the Blue Jays.
191- Wilson Ramos. Now on the Rays
252- Clint Robinson
182- Keon Broxton
1987T of Jose Canseco. Greeeeat.

So...that was a ton of 2017 Topps. I do sort of like the set, even though it is pretty flawed, and even if there's effort in some of the wrong places. I'll probably buy some more packs at some point.
