Custom Card of the Day

Sorta like Donovan McNabb in Washington, here's another guy who might have trouble fitting in in his team's town. Sheets over here spent about 9 years being loyal to the Cheeseheads, and now he's right in the middle of the Valley of the Black War Paint. It must be really weird for him to try and return to form all the way over in Oakland- but hey, he'll be taking the top starter rains from Justin Duchduchduchduchduchduchduch, so he'll be just fine adapting.

Tomorrow- Pat the Bat...batting DH.

Philadelphia Weeps Once More

The hero of my decade in football, Donavan McNabb, has been sent away to the holy land (otherwise known as Washington). Oh, man. It was a smart move to the execs- he's been playing poorly the last few years, and we needed Michael Bip- sorry, Michael Vick to fight with Kevin corn on the Kolb. They just wanted McNabb to disappoint people elsewhere.

The fans, however, think that's a load of crap. McNabb has been that city's football savior for over a decade, leading them to (lose) a Super Bowl, and to (lose) the NFC championship game against the (sigh) Giants. The bloodthirsty Philadelphia fans that I, myself, have become to comfortable with, will not take this news easily. All I know is half the Eagles fans I know will be wearing a Green #5- everyone else will just exclaim they forgot, and move on.

I know people (specific people) who will disagree me, but McNabb would have been great to stay an Eagle, instead of just going to the Land of the Playoff Squandering Bleeping Redskins.

Football is a sad sport- Especially in Philadelphia.

The Kid

I had to make a Griffey- mainly because if he retired today, he'd be going to Cooperstown in 2016. Also, because the guy's just a great player, and from what I've heard he's a nice guy. So he really deserved a creation of mine.

Coming tomorrow- A veteran pitcher stranded in Raider Country.

Custom Card of the Day

Yeah, my opinion of vintage is not 93 Topps, but could YOU think of a way for a post-vintage expansion team to be customized? Me either. So we get 93/94 for the Rockies and Marlins, and 98/99 for the D-Backs and Rays. Still, some chances to see some never-before-customized guys, like Giambi over here, who used to be a Yankee, but was thankfully not picked up due to the Teixiera deal. Still, great player.

Coming tomorrow- The Kid. Nuff said.

Big Jim

The Twins played their first game in Target Field today, and somehow this guy wasn't on the roster. A shame, too. Still, Jim has had a great career, and I would say he has a legitamate shot of getting into the Hall of Fame. I know that fans of the two other teams in the AL Central will disagree, unless Jim ends his career with the Royals or the Tigers. Still, a great player, and an ex-Philly. Great resume

Up next- the only shot a pre-vintage expansion team has at being customised. Jason Giambi is tomorrow's custom of the day, and he's playing for one.

The End of the Road

After about a year, this blogger is hitting the road. Please, don't beg me to come back, for that would be ridiculous. Really, my life has been really hectic lately. I have been posting inconsistently, and I really haven't been attracting that many people. Let's not dwell on the past, though.

For a while, I thought baseball card collecting was my pride and joy. On Tuesday, I had to get rid of everything. Oh, how I hated doing that. Lesser a man couldn't do such a thing.

I guess this is what it might be about...beginnings.
