Cano Regrets

So, once again...we've got a Mariners team with a lot of prestige and not a lot of results.

At this point, I'm starting to feel bad for Robinson Cano. He came to Seattle in 2014 to help this team compete, and he and Nelson Cruz have been trying their damnedest ever since to make something of this team. But whatever they do, the rest of the team can't seem to snap out of mediocrity. Right now it's the pitching that's lacking, with Felix Hernandez and James Paxton off to disappointing starts, and only Mike Leake's slow but steady stuff trying his damnedest to pick up the pace.

The lineup isn't bad, with more of the youth movement, especially Mitch Haniger, doing well, as well as Dee Gordon, Jean Segura, and the pleasant return of Ichiro Suzuki. This isn't a bad team, but not enough is especially good. And with teams like the Angels and Astros dominating the AL West, 'okay' teams like the Mariners are probably going to sink for a bit, especially when someone like Texas could gain momentum at any given moment.

It's not an especially great picture, but it's one that could improve if the Mariners push a bit further.

Coming Tomorrow- Fireballer from Denver, now without most of the youth movement from last year that we apparently decided wasn't working.
