The Stars Are Out: Two NL West First Pitches

SAO18 #2 - Tigers and Dodgers Legend Kirk Gibson
Knocking a few of these out today, as I've got a TON in the can from last week. This one's a little more obvious than the last one. This year is the 30th anniversary of the Los Angeles Dodgers' last World Series title, and they've been paying tribute throughout the year. Obviously the WS MVP of that year, Kirk Gibson, has to be a part of the festivities, so he threw out the first pitch a few months ago, in all his hairless, ex-manager glory. Glad to see he's still comfortable in LA

I say that last bit because the next guy...

SAO18 #3 - Diamondbacks Charter Member Byung-Hyun Kim

...may have committed a large-scale snafu for the Diamondbacks back in the day. And yet here he is, throwing out the first pitch to commemorate the team's 20th anniversary.

Yes, Byung Hyun-Kim may be famous to D-Backs fans for his long-ish tenure as a member of the team back in the day, and for his All Star season in 2002, but...to Yankees fans, he is remembered for giving up roughly a zillion home runs during the 2001 World Series. Hey, they still won the thing, so he still gets hero status in Phoenix, hence this first pitch.

Expect a few more of these in the next few days.
