A's Update: Just Watch the Raiders Edition

It's mid-September, the playoffs are coming, and it isn't 2011 or 2012. Which can only mean one thing...time for Athletics fans to stop caring about baseball.

Yes, it's been a very eventful year, and Khris Davis, Stephen Vogt and Marcus Semien have made games worth watching, but other than that, not a lot has happened. Everyone that was making positive progress this year got traded, and the guys that were left either did...alright, or just plain disappointed. Billy Butler punched his way out of a nice-sized contract, Sonny Gray had a very subpar season, and a late-season surge from Danny Valencia was really all to talk about.

The good news is that the Raiders happen to be wonderful this year, with a team they've been waiting for since 2003, complete with a stellar quarterback, an impressive defensive line and some of the best young players in the game. My father, a lifelong Raiders fan, who would probably bleed black and silver even in a paper cut, is absolutely ecstatic, and I hope that this Oakland team can actually fulfill something this season, or, at the very least, start a long-gestating dynasty. They haven't had one of those in years.

So, to all Athletics fans who've been disillusioned by A's games...never fear. The Raiders are great this year. And besides, next year will bring a host of new, young A's that Billy Beane can twist into whatever position he wants. It's not lost, is what I'm saying.

Coming Tomorrow- A last reminder of the horrible misfire that was the 2016 Diamondbacks.
